SP Spotlight: A discussion on operating a highly efficient OCP cloud infrastructure using the lowest cost renewable energy in the EU.

Luleå, Sweden is synonymous with amazing natural resources and the largest city in the Swedish Lapland.  It’s also home to a thriving tech community and several OCP members including Hydro66, Facebook, the Research Institute of Sweden (RISE) and the Boden Project.

This week’s SP Spotlight centers on Hydro66 who has been an OCP Community member since 2019 and the first OCP Ready™certified data center in the nordics.  The team at Hydro66 embody the OCP tenets of openness, impact, scale and efficiency by operating a highly efficient cloud infrastructure using the lowest cost renewable energy in the EU.

I had the opportunity to chat with Hydro66’s Andy Long, Strategic Advisor, and Paul Morrison, Chief Commercial Officer.  We discuss how enterprises should view efficiency when choosing a data center, the momentum behind Circular Economy and more.
