The goal of this OCP Subproject is to form a healthy ecosystem in the network interface card (NIC) space, under the OCP Server Project
Scope
The OCP Network Interface Card (NIC) Subproject group is a community-driven initiative that aims to develop and promote open and disaggregated NIC solutions for the data center. The group's charter includes:
- Developing specifications and standards for OCP NICs, hardware and firmware interfaces, to ensure interoperability and compatibility among different vendors' products.
- Encouraging innovation and collaboration among members to drive the development of new and improved NIC technologies that meet the needs of the data center & enterprise server industry.
- Promoting the adoption of OCP NICs in the data center market by providing education and awareness about the benefits of OCP NIC solutions.
- Fostering a community of developers, users, and vendors to contribute to the development and growth of the OCP NIC ecosystem.
- Providing a forum for members to share their experiences, best practices, and use cases related to OCP NICs, and to collaborate on solutions to common challenges.

This subproject meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 9am Pacific Time.
