OCP's Chief Innovation Officer, Cliff Grossner will be discussing Building Sustainable AI & HPC Data Centers from 13:30 - 14:30 local time.
Current projections on the resource consumption of the AI and HPC data center buildout expected between 2024 and 2028 indicate we must change the power, water, and carbon footprint demands of current computational infrastructure. The potential impact on humanity is concerning, with annual data center power consumption to double by 2030, and data center driven carbon emissions could triple by 2050. One thousand AI image generation queries can consume as much as 76B kWh of power, twice as much as the annual power consumption of Portugal at approx. 48B kWh. We must change the economics of today’s computational infrastructure. This talk will discuss the latest open innovations being worked by the OCP Community needed to deliver the next generation sustainable data center facilities and computational infrastructure.
Register for the upcoming two-part Joint OCP & JEDEC Workshop - Standards for Chiplet Design with 3DIC Packaging
This workshop will bring together chip designers, chiplet providers, EDA tool providers, packaging and test houses and foundry partners to discuss developing common data formats, tool interfaces and process flows for a revamped supply chain.
The goal of the workshop is to identify standards that, if developed, can simplify chiplet/3DIC design from specification and tapeout to chip packaging. We envision that interoperable formats will streamline handoffs between design, verification, assembly and packaging tools. Standardized workflows will also facilitate collaboration across organizational boundaries.
