Data Center Secure Container Module

The Data Center Secure Control Module (DC-SCM) Sub-Project of the OCP Server Project creates designs and specifications that enable interoperable hardware for platform security and manageability in the form of a standardized DC-SCM module. The specification separates common platform management and security hardware and places it behind a connector specified by its pin-out, the Datacenter Secure Control Interface (DC-SCI). Deliverables include the DC-SCI specification, electrical, mechanical, functional, and logical requirements for platform designers, and design specifications for interoperable DC-SCM and HPM modules. The current published specification is DC-SCM Rev 2.2.

About This Sub-Project

The DC-SCM workstream creates designs and specifications to enable interoperable hardware for platform security and manageability, in the form of a standardized DC-SCM module. The Data Center Secure Control Module (DC-SCM) specification separates the common platform management and security hardware and places it behind a connector. The module is specified by its connector pin-out, the Datacenter Secure Control Interface (DC-SCI), and may have one or more form factors.

Scope

The DC-SCM workstream’s deliverables cover:

  • DC-SCI interface specification : the Datacenter Secure Control Interface between the DC-SCM module and the Host Processor Module
  • Platform requirements : electrical, mechanical, functional, and logical requirements for platform designers
  • Interoperable module designs : design specifications for interoperable DC-SCM and HPM modules, in one or more form factors

Workstream Overview

The DC-SCM module specification separates the common platform management and security hardware and places them behind a connector. The module is specified by its connector pin-out called DC-SCI. The module may have one or more form-factors.

Charter

This Workstream creates designs and specifications to enable interoperable hardware for platform Security and Manageability, in the form of standardized DC-SCM Module. Deliverables from this project will include:

  • Specification for the Datacenter Secure Control Interface (DC-SCI) between the DC-SCM Module and Host Processor Module (HPM)
  • Electrical, Mechanical, Functional and Logical requirements for platform designers
  • Design specifications for interoperable DC-SCM and HPM modules
