2022 OCP Global Summit by the Numbers

By all accounts, the 2022 OCP Global Summit was a huge success with more than 3,500 people attending the event in San Jose, CA.! Thank you to our amazing Members, Sponsors, Partners, Staff and Community!

Empowering Open was the theme for the annual Summit and it couldn't have been more fitting. The world's most innovative organizations - from hyperscalers to colo-facility providers to enterprise to government and telecom - have realized the benefits of openly researching, developing, testing, deploying, and sharing technologies through collaboration.

This year, we expanded the Summit schedule to three full days in order to give the attendees more time to attend Engineering Workshops, tracks and special sessions and provide everyone with more time on the Expo Hall floor.

We couldn't put on such an amazing event without our dedicated sponsors; we had 80 this year, with 65 booths filling up two full halls at the San Jose Convention Center with the latest innovations.

Tracks, sessions and workshops

The Community leadership arranged 14 dynamic content tracks, with an impressive 412 speakers across 316 sessions. The Experience Center had six stations, and we hosted two co-located events with our partners (CXL Consortium and Linux Foundation) - the CXL Forum and the SONiC workshop, as well as the special Optics track.

Future Technologies Symposium

OCP Future Technologies Symposium (FTS) held on Day 2, gathered people from academia, research, industry and startups to showcase the future technologies of OCP. FTS hosted five technological tracks and three Future Technologies Initiative (FTI) breakout sessions in the afternoon. The FTS had 8 keynotes, 15 author's presentations and 26 posters (posters were featured during three days of the OCP Global Summit). The Best FTS Paper Prize of $10 000 was awarded to Alan Liu from Quintessent for his work on optical interconnects in the networking track. Finally, the FTS/FTI made two announcements: first, a successful graduation of the Software Defined Memory workstream and its transition to OCP Sub-Project, called Composable Memory Systems and second, the launch of a new FTI Computational Storage workstream.
