People’s Republic of China

The OCP China Mainland Regional Project Community discusses OCP Technology and Vertical Projects as they apply across the region, meeting in Mandarin on local Chinese time zones and adapting requirements to suit regional needs. As long as its work stays in line with the OCP Tenets and respective Project Charters, the community has wide flexibility to collaborate on OCP requirements and deliver unique solutions for local adopters. Active workstreams include Hardware Fault Management (China), Cloud Firmware (China), and GW-Scale Open AIDC, with wiki pages for the first two. The community also curates Chinese-language videos introducing OCP, and welcomes regional members and adopters to engage through its workstreams.

About This Sub-Project

Sub-Projects

Cloud Firmware China

Cloud Firmware (China) is a Sub-Project of the OCP China Mainland Regional Project Community. Cloud Firmware is a highly customizable, lightweight server BIOS built on a coreboot plus LinuxBoot architecture, designed for cloud service providers that must support deeply customized server hardware, multi-SoC supply chains, and rapidly changing business needs. The architecture offers small code size, easy customization, cross-architecture support, and upstream alignment while stripping non-cloud legacy functions. The working group’s core objective is to make Cloud Firmware the preferred solution for next-generation BIOS.

Hardware Fault Management China

Hardware Fault Management (China) is a Sub-Project of the OCP Regional PRC and Hardware Management Projects. It establishes a local working group in China that connects with the global working group to reduce the impact of time-zone differences and communication barriers and to bring China-grown ideas to the global community. Aligned with the global project on technical objectives, resource coordination, and targeted problem solving, it addresses China-specific hardware error-handling requirements, promotes adoption and enhancement of the RAS API specification, and works to standardize hardware error reporting.
