Product Details

Delta’s 60kW rack-mounted CDU is designed to Google’s Project Brazos specification and contributes to the open ecosystem through the Open Compute Project. As a self-contained, closed-loop liquid-to-air cooling solution, it delivers up to 60 kW of cooling capacity per rack for high-density direct-to-chip liquid cooling applications.
Unlike hyper-scale liquid cooling systems that depend on facility-wide chilled water infrastructure, the Brazos CDU rejects heat directly to the surrounding air environment. This enables data center operators to adopt liquid cooling incrementally, deploying high-density AI and accelerated computing racks exactly where needed while leveraging existing facility air-handling systems. The result is a faster deployment path, lower infrastructure investment, and greater flexibility for scaling AI capacity over time.

Key technical highlights
• 60 kW @ 8 °C ATD
• Nominal cooling per rack at 29 °C air inlet, across three modular units
• 19 GPM (72 LPM) | 25 psi (172 kPa) available pressure
• 3 × 11 OU chassis, OCP ORv3 compatible, deployable as one, two or three
• Coolant: DI water or PG25
• N+1 seal-less pumps
• Hot-swappable pumps, fans and 44 µm strainers
• 40–60 VDC from the ORv3 rack busbar
• Leak detection | Modbus over TCP, Redfish API and local HMI

The Brazos CDU is engineered for maximum availability, featuring a resilient architecture that supports zero-downtime operation in mission-critical environments.
Hot-swappable pumps, fans, and filtration components allow routine maintenance and component replacement to be performed without interrupting cooling delivery to the IT equipment. Combined with N+1 seal-less pump redundancy, the system helps ensure continuous thermal protection for AI workloads while minimizing operational risk and service interruptions.
By maintaining a fully self-contained cooling loop within the rack, heat captured from the cold plates is efficiently transferred to the hot aisle, eliminating the need for facility water connections. This rack-level approach simplifies deployment, accelerates infrastructure expansion, and allows organizations to introduce liquid cooling without significant modifications to existing data center facilities.

Project Brazos demonstrates Delta’s end-to-end engineering capabilities, from concept development and design validation to high-volume manufacturing. Every CDU undergoes rigorous quality assurance processes, including automated full-function testing and helium leak detection, ensuring dependable field performance from day one. Backed by more than 38 years of expertise in thermal management and high-efficiency power technologies, Delta continues to innovate solutions that evolve alongside rapidly advancing AI and accelerated computing platforms, helping customers stay prepared for future generations of infrastructure.

With a worldwide footprint of 165 sales offices, 55 manufacturing facilities, and 73 R&D centers, Delta offers customers the unique combination of local engineering support and global production capacity.
