Academia Research

Academia Research is a Workstream under the Composable Memory System (CMS) Sub-Project of the OCP Server Project. It tracks current academic systems research in composable, heterogeneous, and disaggregated memory, such as CXL, and shares findings with CMS participants. The workstream invites key researchers to present to the CMS community and fosters their participation in OCP events such as the Global Summit. It aims to provide industry feedback and guidance to researchers and, in the future, to fund research in areas of interest to CMS, and it curates lists of CMS-relevant papers from top conferences.

About This Workstream

Academia Research is a Workstream under the Composable Memory System (CMS) Sub-Project of the OCP Server Project.

The Composable Memory System (CMS) Sub-Project sits under the OCP Server Project. It was created when the OCP Future Technologies Initiative’s Software Defined Memory workstream transitioned into a new OCP Sub-Project, now called Composable Memory Systems.

The workstream tracks current academic systems research in composable, heterogeneous, and disaggregated memory — such as CXL — and shares findings with the participants of the CMS Sub-Project. It invites authors of key research and leading researchers to present to the CMS community and fosters their participation in CMS and OCP events such as the OCP Global Summit.

The workstream aspires to provide industry feedback and guidance to researchers and, in the future with support from CMS industry members and the OCP Foundation, to directly fund research in areas of interest to CMS participants. It also maintains a list of CMS-relevant papers published at top conferences or authored by academic and industry luminaries.
