Arm Total Design is an ecosystem of industry leaders collaborating to accelerate and simplify the development of chiplets, using Arm Neoverse Compute Subsystems (CSS). Arm Total Design provides partners with preferential access to Arm Neoverse CSS, pre-integrated IP and EDA tools, design services, foundry support, and commercial software and firmware support. By working with this ecosystem, partners can leverage the expertise and resources of the industry to bring custom compute chiplets rapidly to market.

With Arm Total Design, and by following Arm Chiplet System Architecture (CSA) partitioning and connectivity standards, it is possible to create re-usable compute chiplets that are scalable across a set of market requirements.

CSA is complimentary to the Arm Base System Architecture (BSA), which describes the functionality required within a system for the purpose of consistent software deployment. Server Base System Architecture (SBSA) focuses on support for server system software such as operating systems, hypervisors and firmware. Together with the Base Boot Security Requirements (BBSR), BSA, and SBSA are the foundation of the Arm  SystemReady program, a pre-silicon compliance test to ensure software “just works”.

One AI ASIC developer benefiting from the Arm Total Design ecosystem is Rebellions. To bring their energy efficient AI accelerator to market they need a high-performance, energy efficient compute chiplet to pair it with. Rebellions selected Arm Total Design partner, ADTechnology, who are developing an Arm Neoverse CSS V3 based compute chiplet, to be implemented using Samsung Foundry’s advanced 2nm process.
