New AI assistant provides conversational access to OCP technical resources and helps attendees navigate the 2026 OCP Global Summit
The Open Compute Project (OCP) Foundation today announced OCP Nexus™, an AI knowledge assistant that helps engineers, architects, procurement teams and other community members find and explore OCP resources through natural-language conversations. Launching in conjunction with the 2026 OCP Global Summit, Nexus brings a new way to navigate 15 years of specifications, reference designs, white papers and Summit content contributed by the OCP community.
Users can ask questions in plain language and receive answers drawn from OCP content, with citations and links to the original sources. Whether exploring a technical topic, finding a specification or learning how to participate in an OCP project, Nexus helps users locate relevant information and continue exploring the work behind it.
“Nexus represents a major step forward in how the OCP community accesses and uses the knowledge created across our ecosystem,” said Steven Bates, Chief Information Officer at the OCP Foundation. “By bringing years of technical content, specifications, projects and community resources into a conversational experience, we’re making OCP knowledge easier to discover, understand and apply.”
Connecting the community with its collective knowledge
OCP’s knowledge base spans technical projects, contributed designs, educational resources and event presentations. Nexus helps users explore connections across these resources, discover contributors and their published work, and find related product listings in the OCP Marketplace.
For example, an engineer exploring immersion cooling can ask for an overview, follow links to relevant OCP specifications and presentations, and ask follow-up questions to refine the search. Someone new to OCP can ask about technical programs, upcoming events and ways to get involved.
Developed with NineTwoThree AI Studio and built using Google’s Gemini models, Nexus combines search across OCP content with conversational responses that link back to supporting material. It is designed to present information about companies and products neutrally, helping users explore relevant resources without ranking one vendor over another.
Helping attendees navigate the Global Summit
At the 2026 OCP Global Summit, Nexus also serves as an event guide. Attendees can describe their interests to discover relevant sessions, explore speaker information and build a suggested multi-day agenda that flags scheduling overlaps.
Nexus also helps attendees find exhibitors working in relevant areas and access event logistics, bringing technical discovery and practical event guidance into the same conversation.
“OCP has built one of the most valuable bodies of open data center hardware knowledge in the world. Nexus makes sure every member can put it to work. We’re grateful for the opportunity to help bring this project to life,” said Andrew Amann, CEO of NineTwoThree AI Studio.
Access and availability
OCP Nexus is available at nexus.opencompute.org/chat and through the OCP website.
Users can explore Nexus without an account. Users who register with an email address associated with a current OCP member organization receive higher chat limits and priority access during periods of high demand.
This initial release establishes a foundation for continued improvements as the Foundation expands Nexus’s capabilities and makes OCP knowledge more accessible to members and the broader community.
