Product Details

OCP Ready™ Data Center, Global Switch Amsterdam: Average density of 3,000W/m2, accommodating up to 50kW racks and supporting transition to liquid cooling.

Global Switch Amsterdam is located in the Slotervaart/Overtoomseveld district, adjacent to the main Dutch cable infrastructure. This world-class data center campus is just 2km from the financial district and city center.

  • Global Switch Amsterdam is the only truly scalable data center campus in the Netherlands, offering single rack deployments through to multi-megawatt bespoke solutions.
  • Amsterdam East will increase the campus by a further 32,000 sq m to achieve a total of 73,000 sq m of space.
  • Stage 1 of Amsterdam East is currently under construction and is due to become operational in Q1 2024.
  • Customers will benefit from direct access to the already network-dense, low latency ecosystem of Amsterdam West that is home to multiple international and regional carriers as well as leading cloud providers.
  • Access to peering platforms AMS-IX and NL-IX for direct access to the global IP backbone.
  • Each suite has the capacity of 2MW at an average density of 3,000W/m2 and contiguous space of 4MW can be provided. Up to 50kW racks can be currently accomodated and the suites can be transitioned for liquid cooling to support higher rack power requirements.
  • Amsterdam East will lead the way in an environmentally sustainable design, targeting a BREEAM Very Good rating and annualised PUE of less than 1.2. 100% of the electricity purchased, including the IT power, will be sourced from renewables. Standby generation will use biofuel and refrigerant gas will have low GWP and zero ODP.
  • The technical suites will be cooled using fan wall units, configured as a flooded room with hot aisle containment and supported from a free-cooling water-based system.
