The UfiSpace 400G disaggregated fabric switch, also known as the S9705-48D, is the fabric element that interconnects the S9700-53DX and S9700-23D line card white boxes to create a distributed disaggregated chassis (DDC) routing system. It is able to be deployed in the core or edge to transport services over a scalable next-gen service provider network.
The S9700-48D is equipped with 48 x 400G fabric ports, which can connect up to 4 S9700-53DXs or S9700-23Ds in a non-blocking architecture. The fabric port utilizes Broadcom’s cell switching interface to maximize the switching performance by eliminating packet overhead and optimizing the resource allocation to distribute loading between fabric interfaces.
