= Open Network Linux =

Initially proposed at Open Compute Project Engineering Workshop in San Antonio by [http://bigswitch.com/ Big Switch Networks] in 2013, [http://opennetlinux.org/ Open Network Linux] (ONL) is is a Linux distribution for "bare metal" switches.

Adopted by the [http://www.opencompute.org/ Open Compute Project] in 2014, ONL is the reference Network Operating System for the Open Compute Project.

= Hardware Support =

ONL currently supports 110+ Networking Switches of which 33 are either OCP Accepted or Inspired.

= Certification =

ONL maintains a certification program for validation of network switch hardware with ONL. A designation of ONL Certified is applied to switches that pass ONL conformance testing. A separate Gold status certification is available to vendors who provide materials for ongoing testing.
