Keynote Call for Presentations

For the 2025 EMEA Summit in Dublin, Ireland we will accept keynote proposals from all Elite sponsors. Here is our guidance for the keynote proposals:

Across the EMEA region, we see unprecedented growth ahead for data center capacity, driven by ongoing growth in data tonnage and the addition of high performance computing workloads such as generative AI applications. This impact on energy, water, and construction materials must be addressed by systemic change. We believe changes must be made to align energy demand to actual grid conditions, converge actual operational efficiency with theoretical peak efficiency using Digital Twin concepts and embracing heterogeneous cooling strategies in data centers, including utilizing liquid cooling at both the facility and IT equipment levels for heat transportation, storage, and reuse.

The revised Energy Efficiency Directive formalizes an “energy efficiency first” principle for EU energy policy. As of May 2024, organizations have been regulated to comply with mandatory reporting on energy consumption, PUE, waste heat utilization, water usage, and renewable energy sourcing, in addition to new auditing and annual energy savings mandates. We call on our EU Community to share experiences and work to address these challenges through open collaboration, including launching new OCP workstreams across Europe.

Recent global events—from the pandemic to geopolitical conflicts—have underscored the need for strategic shifts in globalization and supply chain sourcing. Meanwhile, new EU regulations focused on cybersecurity have revealed emerging challenges for data center infrastructure and fostered innovation and deeper expertise across the industry. As sovereignty remains a top priority, investments in EU-based silicon and IT equipment design and manufacturing are accelerating. With growing capabilities in quantum computing, AI accelerators, photonics, and a regional chiplet economy, EMEA is well-positioned to drive innovation and leadership in these critical technology sectors.

Keynote Deadlines:

April 18: Final Slides due to OCP
April 29-30: Regional Summit show days (Keynotes on April 29)

We suggest that you:

  1. Propose a dynamic speaker, and note the selection committee seeks to enable a rich tapestry of speaker perspectives, experiences and backgrounds in our keynote presentations, thus preference will be given to speakers that reflect this balance and diversity.
  2. Avoid commercial content
  3. Share actual success stories of open collaboration, ideally through the OCP ecosystem.
  4. If you would like to discuss your keynote topic and narrative, the Foundation team is happy to do so during the submission period between now until February 2nd to allow time for any revision and timely submission. Keep in mind, we receive far more submissions for keynotes than we have time to allow, therefore we encourage you to go big as most will not be accepted! The best content delivered by the greatest speakers will be selected! And diversity matters!

The keynote submission portal is private and only accessible to Elite sponsors. To access the link to submit for a keynote, please contact us at jonae@opencompute.org.
