The ONL Sub-Project is under the direction of the OCP Networking Project Group.

Scope

Initially proposed at Open Compute Project Engineering Workshop in San Antonio by Big Switch Networks in 2013, Open Network Linux (ONL) is is a Linux distribution for "bare metal" switches.

Hardware Support

ONL currently supports 110+ Networking Switches of which many are either OCP Accepted™ or Inspired™.

Certification

ONL maintains a certification program for validation of network switch hardware with ONL. A designation of ONL Certified is applied to switches that pass ONL conformance testing. A separate Gold status certification is available to vendors who provide materials for ongoing testing.

The generic ONL testing guide is located Here
