Minutes

  • Rob Sherwood from Big Switch and Olivier Vautrin from Pica8 will present latest status of OpenNetworkLinux for community review, setting up for a formal contribution to OCP.
    • what can we do to combine/consolidate some of the work between ONIE and ONL (Curt chimed in to agree on this)
    • kernel code into its own repository so both ONIE/ONL can use it
    • perhaps some timing with the move to OCP?
    • long term, best way to share kernel code is to get it into the upstream Linux kernel <- good point!
    • an informal survey of various switch vendors are all using debian wheezy?
    • pica8 is already on it
    • most people are trying to support both powerpc and x86
  • Update from CJ Williams from Microsoft and Subi or Sanjay from Dell on their HAL work
    • Spec should be coming soon, collaborating with others on this
  • Upcoming workshops/summits
    • Who will attend Paris? Will send poll out

Action items

  • Rob Sherwood/Curt Brune - Single kernel repository for common kernel code between ONIE/ONL - git sub-modules?
