The Open Compute Project Foundation (OCP) announces today the full results of an assessment of the market impact of the Open Compute Project worldwide. OCP engaged IHS Markit, a world leader in critical information, analytics and solutions, to help validate the adoption of OCP gear in the data center industry. Since its inception, OCP has worked to drive innovation in and around the data center industry, bringing together nearly two hundred-member organizations and more than 4,000 engineers. The demands on the modern datacenter continue to expand with the growth of IOT, security and edge computing, as well as increasing energy consumption requirements.

It is the week before the OCP Summit. If you have not registered, please do so ASAP. You would hate to miss the opportunity to hear some of the industry’s foremost thought leaders and experts talk about their open products, the trends they are driving in the open source community and witness the changing landscape of the cloud.

One year ago, the Open Compute Project launched its Marketplace, which lists products that have achieved OCP Inspiredtm and OCP Acceptedtm recognition. All these products are available from a licensed OCP Solution Provider. Today, the marketplace hits 100!

The Open Compute Project Foundation (OCP) is excited to announce today that Brian Stein (Rackspace), will serve on its Board of Directors. Brian replaces John Engates, who has served for the last year as the Rackspace representative. We would like to thank John Engates for contributing his time and talents to the OCP Community. OCP saw many victories during his tenure as a Board member, and his leadership and vision will be missed.
